What does "start free" actually mean?
Creating a Fulkrum account is completely free, no credit card required. Try uploading a sample bank statement and explore the app, and access our curated education and learning materials, all for free. You only pay for the specific services you turn on, like bookkeeping or tax filing, at the prices shown in Pricing, and some parts of the app are only available to subscribed users.
Is my financial data safe?
Yes. Bank connections run through Stripe, the same infrastructure millions of businesses already trust, and your books are never re-typed or duplicated elsewhere.
Do I need to switch banks?
No. Connect your existing bank account through Stripe, or upload statements manually if you'd rather not connect one at all.
What's the difference between DIY and Full Service?
DIY ($39.48/mo) gives you the tools and AI-assisted categorization to do your own bookkeeping. Full Service ($168.08/mo) adds a dedicated bookkeeper and year-end tax filing, for businesses that fit our supported profile. Prices are all-in: sales tax and card processing are included, nothing is added at checkout.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, there's no long-term contract. Cancel your subscription whenever you like; if you cancel in the middle of a month, you're billed through the end of that month and billing stops the following month.
How do my customers pay an invoice?
By card, from a link on the invoice we email them. Payments are processed by Stripe and settle directly to your own bank account — Fulkrum never holds your money. If a customer pays you by cheque or bank transfer instead, you record it against the invoice and your books stay right either way.
